From the District Governor
From the Editor
On Wednesday, 7th August, I was accompanying my wife to her departure lounge at the airport where she was flying to Brisbane for a conference and to visit friends.
Just after we went through the security scanners and were gathering up our belongings, we heard the security scanner alarms go off. Out of curiosity, we turned around and who set the alarms off but our beloved District Governor Tim Klar.
After 3 attempts to unsuccessfully traverse the security scanners, and alter removing his belt, his shoes and his suit coat, it turned out that the Rotary badges on his coat were the offending items.
Ironically, the Rotary Connects the World badge that was contributing to the alarm sounding did not really connect Tim with the now 30 or so people waiting in the queue.
On the plus side, Tim was actually travelling to Sydney for a RAWCS meeting where Dick Smith had pledged a contribution of $1M.
