WALK FOR MENTAL HEALTH
SUNDAY 13 OCTOBER, STARTING AT 9.30 AM

COORDINATED BY ROTARY CLUB OF EASTWOOD

Each October Rotary Clubs are asked to focus some effort towards the Australian Rotary Health, and the fabulous work it does, particularly in funding research into Mental Health. All Rotarians should be very proud of our achievements in this regard.

At least one in five Australians will have some form of mental health issue during their lives. Since Rotary’s involvement, much of the stigma associated with these issues has been reduced. In addition, exercise is a great help to sufferers to regain their confidence and overall health, as is an opportunity to talk about one’s thoughts and issues.

How good would it be to have an event that achieves:
  • Donations to ARH to continue our funding of vital research work
  • Give all a chance to have some exercise in the Adelaide Hills, and
  • To talk about one’s mental health.
Here is an opportunity, with minimal effort from most Rotarians, to do all three of these, and have fun at the same time.

WHERE?A reasonably level course in the Adelaide Hills, starting at Woodside at 9.30 am on Sunday 13 October.
HOW LONG?Main event is 8 km, with a gentler 4 km option.
HOW HARD?The route is on a fairly level track. And you walk at your pace.  EASY
HOW MUCH?Donation of only $ 25 per person, payable via TryBookings (https://www.trybooking.com/BFEEG) or pay on the day.
WHICH CLUBS ARE INVITED?All Rotary Clubs can join us. Simply let Mark Redmond at Rotary Club of Eastwood (markredmond@internode.on.net) know, and more details will be sent. Donations from those participants that nominate your Club as their Rotary contact will be credited by ARH in your Club’s name.
WHO CAN COME?
Everyone. More is better. Rotarians to invite family and friends. Community engagement and external donations are our aim.

Here is an opportunity for your Club to gather together a significant donation in your Club’s name to ARH. Each participant will nominate which Club they are associated with, and their Entry Fee will be sent to ARH and credited to that Rotary Club. Please join us for a great morning in the Adelaide Hills.
